Daikon cress - 35g
Daikon Cress® is the brand name used by Koppert Cress for an edible plant. Daikon Cress is a plant native to Japan.
With its powerful horseradish flavor, Daikon Cress is a popular flavoring agent. It can be paired with raw fish such as tuna, salmon, mackerel and herring. Mixed with a mixed salad, Daikon Cress brings the essential touch of originality.
Daikon Cress is very popular in Japan under the name 'kaiware'. It comes from the same family as the red radish (hence the name daikon which means radish in Japanese) but it has a more pronounced taste.
The cultivation of Daikon Cress is very fast, which is why it is essential to use a special variety of seeds that guarantees us uniform germination. This is why Koppert Cress seeds are produced in various parts of the world under our own management.
Daikon Cress is available all year round and can be stored for up to 7 days at 2°C to 7°C. If the Daikon Cress is kept outside the cold room, it will grow very quickly. Since this plant consumes a lot of water, the natural fiber substrate will dry out quickly and the Daikon Cress will then tend to wilt. The remedy is simple, water the substrate again and put the plant in a cool place. Cultivated using biological control, Daikon Cress meets kitchen hygiene standards. It can be used immediately without even prior rinsing.
All our fresh products are sent in specially designed isothermal packages including cooling gels allowing them to be kept cool throughout the journey.
