House founded in 1824 in Vierzon in Berry, Les Huileries du Berry have been developing gourmet oils since their creation. Originally, only walnut oil was made seasonally with the contribution of kernels from producers in the region. This production was also intended for an exclusively local trade.
Huilerie Guénard is a historic player in the Cher Valley. Indeed, in 1926, the Guénard family took over the activities of Huileries du Berry, which then moved to Saint-Aignan-sur-Cher. The know-how of this family allows the company to develop, which requires in 1976 the installation in Noyers-sur-Cher, on the other bank of the Cher. With these new premises built on an 18-hectare site, production is organized full-time and over the years, the activity has diversified to meet exponential customer demand. In 1994, hazelnut oil and French walnut oil notably entered the range. A few years later, hemp oil and almond oil will complete this offer of 100% French oils.
Today, Guénard sells around thirty different gourmet oils in delicatessens and high-end restaurants, which makes it possible to offer a wide range of exceptional flavors, both classic and original.
The quality of Guénard artisanal oils has also enabled the company to develop its business internationally. Indeed, its exceptional oils and their unique tastes have been appreciated throughout the world. Japan, Belgium, Germany… Guénard oils are now distributed in some twenty countries and export turnover, all activities combined, represents nearly 40%.
In addition, the renowned company The Company of Flavors since 2014 brings together the know-how of Huiles Guénard and Soléou , and thus offers a top-of-the-range range of gourmet and organic oils. La Compagnie des Saveurs belongs to the French group Avril , a major player in the French vegetable oils and proteins sector.
