In 1961, the property was bought, without its castle dating from 1870, by a renowned nurseryman from Vaucluse, Gabriel Meffre. If historically, the vineyard had been made up with plots of Saint-Pierre, Gabriel Meffre gradually increased its surface area with plots from neighboring Château Lagrange , bringing it to 43 hectares.

Surrounded by Grands Crus Classés Médoc, and not the least, the ensemble thus constituted extends over four well-drained sandy-gravel lots, with relatively young vines (a little over 20 years old) planted at a rate of 6,666 vines / hectare. The grape varieties are divided between 67% of Cabernet Sauvignon , 27% Merlot and 6% of Cabernet Franc .

Like Château Lalande, Château Du Glana is now managed by Jean-Paul Meffre, helped by his two sons, who undertook a complete overhaul of the vineyard in order to develop its full potential. The vines are disbudded, leafless and thinned by hand, as part of a plot management in reasoned fight.
