It is from the passion for cooking that was born "L'Armoire à Conserves”, a traditional cannery that transforms regional products while preserving their tastes and the authenticity of recipes from South-West France.
But no doubt you are wondering who is hiding behind the Preserves Cabinet?
Her name is Valeska, she is Chilean by origin, but Gascony by adoption. She loves her old Landes house where she can cultivate her vegetable garden, raise chickens, geese, ducks and enjoy the riches of the forest.
Pierre, her husband is a native of Landes. An agricultural engineer, he worked for a long time for large canning houses for vegetables, mushrooms and foie gras.
They like to have their tin cupboard at home to make up for the impromptu visit of all their friends, and to taste the produce of the vegetable garden in any season.
The idea therefore came to him to naturally create “L’ Armoire à Conserves” with the sole aim of sharing their commitment with as many people as possible:
"That of making your preserves as if it were their own, in the culinary tradition of the South-West"
They made their adventure a reality in 2009, with the creation of a laboratory located in Castets, in the heart of the Landes forest, where they develop more and more recipes.
Fatty duck and pork from the South-West are of course very present, but asparagus, mushrooms (ceps, chanterelles, morels, etc.), vegetables, Atlantic fish and cooked dishes complete the rich and varied offer.
