It was in 1790 that the Saget family began its long history dedicated to vines and wine, placing it among the very small number of wine houses engaged in their third century of continuous activity.

But the story could have ended dramatically 40 years ago when Guy Saget, father of Jean-Louis Saget, current manager, died prematurely.

Jean-Louis, who dreamed of being a trumpeter, must take over the family business at the age of 20. Accompanied by his brother, he manages not only to bring the Domaine de Pouilly-sur-Loire to life but to extend the influence of the House well beyond the appellation, to the most beautiful vineyards of the Loire Valley, and borders in more than 40 countries as well as on the most prestigious tables.
