The history of the distillery on the island of Pinthiers, in Pons in Charente, is today the signature of the NAUD family, producer of the eponymous brand and reflecting its intentions: "Noble and Unusual Distillery".

Built in the 19th century in the Cognac region, the former Pinthiers grain mill was transformed into a family distillery in 1923.

For decades, Emile Perrier meticulously produced original liqueurs there which enjoyed a fine reputation. It was then called the Perrier distillery.

In the 80s, Jean Michel Naud inherited and rediscovered it. Nestled on a very small island, the old limestone building, lined with lime trees and willows, is surrounded by two arms of the Seugne. Inside, five surprisingly well-preserved traditional Charentais 2,500-litre stills are beginning a second life. Their small size contributes to the production of unique batches.
