Château Sociando-Mallet is a wine-growing château located in Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne, in the Médoc vineyards of the Haut-Médoc appellation, as are Château Chasse-Spleen , Cantemerle , Citran and Caronne Sainte-Gemme .
It produces one of the most beautiful unclassified wines of the Médoc, according to a desire to be outside any classification (official classification of Bordeaux wines from 1855 or that of the Crus Bourgeois). This is also the slogan of the domain: “Neither classified, nor bourgeois... Sociando-Mallet, quite simply. ". We find the traces of the first owner of Château Sociando-Mallet with Sieur Sociondo, purchaser of vineyard land near Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne in 1633. The domain took its name with Madame widow Mallet, who bought the property in 1850. Visionary , Jean Gautreau, then director of a Bordeaux wine trading company, acquired the estate in 1969 and set it on the path to excellence.
