The delicate, smoky flavor and the surprising gray-brown color of this salt are due to its drying over a fire of red alder or Hickory wood. This sea salt is harvested in the waters of the Pacific, in the State of Washington and takes its name from the Salish Indian tribes at the origin of its preparation who populated the State long before colonization. Its incredibly smoky scent is more subtle on the palate than on the nose, and its strong saltiness means it can be used sparingly.

Perfect for seasoning meats and grilled meats, it remains delicate enough to accompany all your dishes, salads, fish, sauces, soups and spreads, and of course the traditional American breakfast!
