The Roques have been distillers from father to son since 1835. Louis, the third generation of burners, decided in 1905 to strike out on his own and moved to Souillac, in place of an old convent. The young man quickly became the local plum brandy specialist...
His know-how was quickly recognized and Louis Roque began to distil on his own behalf "perry" plums provided by farmers in the region. It keeps its production in old oak barrels where the alcohol ages slowly, under supervision. The character becomes a departmental glory.
This know-how, transmitted for five generations, is now in the hands of Louis Roque's grandson.
