When Mr. Cathy, production manager, proposed in the 1960s to launch a chocolate-coated marshmallow confectionery in the shape of a teddy bear, the company's sales representatives remained very skeptical...
But Mr. Cathy is tenacious! Convinced that his idea was going to make the happiness from the youngest to the oldest, he refines his project and secretly manufactures a few copies of his delicacy.
It was during a meeting with the company's salespeople that Mr. Cathy laid out the result of his work : bear-shaped marshmallows coated in a thin layer of chocolate. the success is immediate and the sales people make short work of his treats! The product he thought he could never sell is finally adopted !
The first official Little Ourson Marshmallow leaves the workshops of Villeneuve-d'Ascq in 1962, to quickly become the reference, the Authentic Little Ourson Marshmallow which will amaze generations of gourmets. Since more than 50 years, the recipe of the one who has become an icon remains unchanged.
Long remained an only child, the Marshmallow Teddy Bear has since seen the arrival of new members in the family : a small dark chocolate teddy bear, another in white chocolate and a small caramel and crispy cereal hedgehog.
