Let's be honest, the story is only rumor, but the initial mistake is certified! In 1954, at the heart of the Delespaul-Havez chocolate factory in Marcq-en-Barœul, a machine produced caramel bars.
The poor girl works, works, until the accident occurs… A dose of cocoa lands in the machine and the machine goes wrong, producing elongated bars.
The result is a coincidence, and the caramel bar machine created the Caram'bar, a cocoa and caramel mixture that has gone down in the history of French candy!
