What does “Eat carrots make you lovable” mean?
“Eating carrots makes you lovable” is an old adage made to encourage the consumption of carrots.
“Eat carrots makes you lovable“, here is an expression, inherited from our grandmothers, that you have certainly heard many times.
There carrot has many virtues but no one has ever been able to demonstrate that eating it makes you lovable.
However, carrots are very rich in beta-carotene, the effects of which on our well-being have been scientifically proven, including, in particular, the undeniable good-looking effect which can then suggest that a large consumer of carrots is friendly….. and, moreover, has pink buttocks and thighs!
We are also told that carrots have the property of thinning bile, which could therefore help improve health and make people with liver problems feel better (source: espritsante.com ).
This is why our Grandmothers and Mothers did not hesitate to repeat to us over and over again this old adage “eating carrots makes you lovable” to force us, when we were children, to finish our plate of carrots.
Let us add that taking into account all these virtues, it is a pity that there is no world carrot day. It would logically have found its place on October 18, the day of Saint Aimable!
