At #Monet , we had the cult of the table!
In addition to an inimitable brushstroke, the painter was endowed with quite a stroke of the fork. He who got up at cockcrow was not satisfied, at breakfast, with coffee and buttered toast.
On the menu, charcuterie, cheese, eggs, slices of bread roasted with orange marmalade and even grilled #andouille !
We didn't mess around with the other meals either. A fish lover, Claude Monet reveled in freshly caught pike. Seasoned with vegetables from the South, the meats, especially game, poultry and roasts satisfied his demanding palate. Not to mention the farandole of vegetables, including tomatoes, aubergines, peppers, artichokes and zucchini from Nice, assorted with fava beans, Rocambole garlic and small Egyptian onions!
A simple, #bourgeois and tasty cuisine, tasted in selected table services and which reflected a true #art of living and receiving on a daily basis...
