MONT D'OR - VACHERIN
Mont d'Or cheese lovers are looking forward to it: this cow's milk cheese, also called Vacherin du Haut Doubs, has the particularity of being a seasonal cheese, sold from mid-September to mid-May. Presented in its spruce box, its rind wrinkling like the mountains that saw it born and grow, it is the star at the table. Its paste, unctuous and melting, can be tasted with a teaspoon. Put in the oven, drizzled with white wine and seasoned with a clove of garlic, the “hot box” accompanied by potatoes and a green salad, constitutes a simple and delicious meal.
