Faisselle is a generic French name designating fresh cheese made from raw milk.
It takes its name from the perforated mold in which it is sold. Made mainly from cow's milk but sometimes also from goat's and sheep's milk, fromage frais has a texture that is both soft and grainy.
Its tangy flavor brings a touch of freshness to many dishes, both savory and sweet.
Tasted simply on a piece of bread with olive oil, herbs and pepper or in pies, quiches or gratins, #faisselle never ceases to amaze us.
In a sweet version, it fits just as well in a fruit bowl as in a pavlova or mousse.
