How to compose a beautiful cheese platter?
Cheese is an integral part of the French culinary heritage, what would our country be without its famous soft cheeses, hard cheeses and a few hundred specimens to taste?
But did you know that to present a cheese platter, there are a few rules?
Discover them!
How many cheeses on my board?
Depending on the number of guests, offer a fairly substantial range of cheeses. Your cheese board should contain at least three varieties of cheese: a hard cheese, a creamy cheese and a strong cheese.
For a beautiful, well-stocked platter, you can select one cheese from each category: a hard cheese like Comté; a bruise ; a soft cheese with a bloomy rind like Camembert; a soft cheese with a washed rind; a goat cheese; a sheep's cheese and a semi-hard cheese such as Morbier or Saint-Nectaire.
What topping for my cheese platter?
You can add a few vine leaves or stalks of wheat, figs, grapes or nuts to your cheese platter.
And why not offer a little jar of homemade jam with it?
