PONT-L'EVEQUE AOP. Pont-l'Évêque is, along with Livarot, one of the oldest cheeses in Normandy. Both claim to be descended from lancelot quoted in the 13th century in the Roman de la Rose.
In taste, Pont-l'Evêque is much sweeter than Livarot. It has a fruity flavor, and its paste is unctuous.
The weight of all piece cheeses may therefore vary depending on the ripening.
