After living fifteen years in the United States, in the vast plain of Arizona, their southern accent has not aged a bit! Catherine and Jean-Benoît Hugues decide to go back to basics. They reconnect with their Provençal land to devote themselves to their passion: the olive tree.
The history of CastelaS began in 1997 with a crush on old olive trees planted on the southern slopes of the Alpilles at a place called Castelas. Today the Domaine Castelas produces olives on 45 hectares in Protected Designation of Origin (AOP) in the Vallée des Baux de Provence and 65 hectares in Plaine de Crau.
It is in the mill located at the foot of the Château des Baux that Catherine and Jean-Benoît combine know-how, passion, rigor, technique and all their sensitivity as olive growers to give birth each year to olive oils of a major power.
You will find in their oils of character the terroir of the Alpilles, the varieties of olives (Salonenque, Aglandau, Grossane and Verdale) typical of the AOP and the skill of the miller. The CastelineS Collection will reveal to you the treasures of flavors and the complexity of their olive oils, which regularly win awards at the Concours Général Agricole in Paris.
