List of products by brand HEINZ

It all started in 1869 when a certain Henry-John Heinz, son of a German immigrant from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, decided to go into business. He is 25 years old and has the idea of selling horseradish-based sauces that were cooked by his mother. Very quickly he will expand his business with ranges of vinegars and pickles, then he will have the idea of creating his own ketchup.

Henry-John Heinz is not the inventor of ketchup, it is a sauce of Chinese origin called "ké-tsiap", made from fish brine. But Henry-John Heinz will have the idea of reinterpreting it by adding tomatoes and vinegar. Heinz Ketchup was born. However, it is not in the United States that this sauce will meet the greatest success but in England.

"In 1886, says Olivier Riomet, during a family trip to the United Kingdom, he makes an appointment with the buyer of the large Fortnum & Mason chain of stores, his reaction is immediate. : 'I buy all the stock'. From there, he continues, begins the success of the Heinz brand. So much so that today, many English people think that the Heinz brand is British".

Organic and a new recipe to silence the critics

Today, ketchup does not have a very good press among nutritionists who denounce an excess of salt and sugar. It is for this reason and because the consumer demanded it that Heinz launched in 2006 an organic ketchup which is number 1 in France.
