Originally from the Orient, chives are an aromatic herb whose long green stems and leaves are used as a condiment. Ranked among the main herbs with parsley, chervil or tarragon, its health benefits are numerous. A touch of freshness and a slight taste of garlic make it one of the most used herbs in the kitchen.
Chives go wonderfully well with a cottage cheese or fresh cream sauce to accompany raw vegetables, but also with fish, especially salmon, poultry or even omelettes.
For the realization of hot dishes, add it rather at the end of cooking to preserve the flavors.
